Using a radical (square root) bar. I can't get one on the screen, but I'm sure you know what they look like. Example: fractional exponents can be rewritten in radical form: x2/3 means the cube root of (x2) ... write a radical with an index number 3 to show cube root and the quantity x2 is inside the radical. Any fractional exponent can be done the same way. The denominator of the fractional exponent becomes the index of the radical, but the numerator stays as a whole number exponent in the radical.
it doesnt look like anything my art teacher is a reject
There are many ways that a list of factors can appear. These lists of factors can come in literal lists for example.
It is not enough to look at the base. This is because a^x is the same as (1/a)^-x : the key is therefore a combination of the base and the sign of the exponent.0 < base < 1, exponent < 0 : growth0 < base < 1, exponent > 0 : decaybase > 1, exponent < 0 : decaybase > 1, exponent > 0 : growth.
You look at the denominator first. Then you try to find out what exponents make the denominator. After doing that, you add a negative symbol to the smaller number on the exponent.
