they are both ways to define a ratio. also you can use tem both to find a percent. a difference is that a decimal doesnt use aa numerator or denomenator and a decimal uses a single value. :) hope this helped

If you have a decimal number and you move the decimal point two places to the right (inserting 0s, if required, you will have the related percentage.

For example:

0.000345 = 0.0345%

0.00345 = 0.345%

0.0345 = 345%

0.345 = 34.5 %

3.45 = 345%

34.5 = 3450%

and so on
