They are sometimes called parallels. They are parallel to the equator, zero degrees latitude, and parallel to each other. They are all circles, except for the poles which are points.A parallel is another name for a line of latitude because all lines of latitude are parallel to each other.Graticule .parallels
The equator is a parallel because it is a line of latitude that circles the Earth horizontally, dividing it into the Northern and Southern Hemispheres.
The Tropic of Cancer is a parallel, because it is one of the earths parallel lines.
Lines of latitude are parallel to the equator, and that includes the Arctic and Antarctic Circles. The Tropics of Cancer and Capricorn are also parallel to the equator.See the link below
Latitude and LongitudeLatitude is the lines that go from east to west, and longitude from north to south.
The circles could be in 2 planes that are parallel to each other. Lines and planes can be parallel. Lines of latitude are examples of circles that are in parallel planes.
"Parallels" or "Circles of Latitude".
The equator is the parallel of zero latitude.
The equator is the only parallel of latitude that's a great circle. In fact, it's the only locus of any constant coordinate that's a great circle, since the meridians of longitude are all semi-circles.

I think it is lines of latitude. ___________my answer is the tropic of cancer and Capricorn
The equator is a parallel because it is a line of latitude that circles the Earth horizontally, dividing it into the Northern and Southern Hemispheres.
The parallel line that circles the Earth is the Equator. It is an imaginary line located at 0 degrees latitude that divides the Earth into the Northern Hemisphere and Southern Hemisphere.
The Tropic of Cancer is a parallel, because it is one of the earths parallel lines.

No; neither of the tropics is a great circle. The only line of latitude that is a great circle is the equator. The arctic and antarctic circles are not great circles, either.
