2

I get 2 and here is why:

3X / (x^2 + x) = 1

[multiply "both sides" by (x^2 + x)]

3X = x^2 + x

[subtract 3X from both sides]

0 = x^2 - 2X

[divide both sides by X]

0 = x - 2

[add 2 to both sides]

2 = x

... DOUBLECHECK ...

3X / (x^2 + x) = 1

(3 x 2 ) / ( 2^2 + 2 ) = 1

6 / ( 4 + 2 ) = 1

6 / 6 = 1
