Median means middle so in this case it would mean middle number. If you have a set of numbers like: 12,19,14,100,79 You put it in order by smallest to largest. The set will become: 12,14,19,79,100. The median is 19.
If the set was evened like for with only 2 or 4 or 6 numbers like:
57, 51, 98,78 You still order it from smallest to largest amount like:
51,57,78,98 Take the 2 middle numbers, add them up, divide it by 2, and there you go, you found your median!
Oh, dude, finding the mean, median, mode, and range on a box and whisker plot is like trying to make a sandwich with a hammer. The box and whisker plot already shows you the median (that's the line in the box) and the range (from whisker to whisker). The mean and mode aren't typically shown on a box plot because they're off doing their own thing, not invited to the box and whisker party.
I personally hated these. So say you have a set of numbers. 78, 80, 81, 83 ,and 85. You need to find the lower quartile, upper quartile, and of course median. the highest and lowest points will be on the end. draw a box around the upper, and lower quartile and lines coming out from it connecting to 78 and 85.
the second median
You have to put a line of best fit onto the graph and find where that line crosses the y-axis.
The box represents your Q1, Q2 (median) and Q3, so it is your interquartile range. The Q1 is the first box line, the Q2 is the middle one and the Q3 is the closing line. Your interquartile range basically tells you where 50% of the people are.

The median.
Find the number that is most to the right of the line plot.
A Box and Whisker Plot.
In order to find the median of a line, you first have to find the the coordinates of the point. In order to do this, you must use the midpoint formula : x = x2+x1/2 y=y2+y1/2. Then, you find the equation of the line of the median, so if you have triangle ABC and you want to find the median of CM (M is the point that we found the coordinates for), you find the slope of the line and put all of that in the equation for point-slope and change it to standard form.

If the data are quantitative they must have a median. If there is no median it is only because the data are qualitative and, in that case, a box and whiskers plot is meaningless.
a graphic way to display the median, quartiles, and extremes of a data set on a number line to show the distribution of the data.
divide by the gradient

Answer - The mode of a line plot is the number that shows up the most. ex. 1,2,3,3,4,4,6,6,7,8,8,8,9 mode = 8
