y= x- 4 is a line with slope 1 and y intercept -4. So we graph a line the intersects the y axis at -4. From that point go up 1 and over 1 to get to the next point.

You cannot produce a graph from just yx-4, because that is an expression, not an equation. If it was intended as y = x-4, then you can. It would be a straight line intercepting the axes at (0, -4) and (4, 0).
