To make an equivalent fraction multiply (or divide) both the numerator and the denominator by the same number.

  1. EXAMPLE : Equivalent fractions of 2/7 are 4/14(multiplied by 2), 6/21(multiplied by 3), 8/28(multiplied by 4)....and so on.
  2. 20/64 can be converted to the equivalent fraction 5/16 (divide by 4).
