My father in Venice, FL has a 1968 J C Higgins 26" girls tanker bicycle that is in complete and in decent shape. A collector stopped by and provided information about the year and type of bike - Dad did not know much about the bike. If you'd like the whole bike $100 buys it complete with two new tires and ready to ride. If you just want the tank itself - call Bob Barber at (941) 485-4150 and work out a deal.
Bicycles are much more expensive part for part than as a whole bike, so particularly if you are a beginner it makes much more sense to pickup a complete bike instead. Then replace parts either when they break, or when you've been able to figure out what changes you want to make.
The time it takes to bike 80 miles depends on your speed. On average, a person biking at a moderate pace of 12-14 miles per hour would take about 5-7 hours to complete the 80-mile distance.
