As I would explain and show students, in order to round, you look at the number in the place to the right of where you want to round. If that number is 5 or more, you round up. If it's less than 5, you round down.
For example, you want to round 12.54 to 1 decimal place. Look at the number in the second decimal place. That number is a 4, which is less than 5. So you'd round this down. That means your answer would be 12.5.
But what if the original number was 12.58 and you needed to round this to 1 decimal place. The number in the second decimal place is an 8, which is greater than 5. So you'd round up. That means taking the number in the first decimal place and increasing it by one. So you'd round to 12.6.
1, if you want to round it to the nearest whole number. For rounding it to the nearest tenth (one decimal place), the answer is 0.7. For rounding it to the nearest hundredth (two decimal places), the answer is 0.67. etc. When you round it to the nearest millionth (six decimal places), you'll no longer be rounding up, because the answer will be the same as what you started with: 0.666666.
Six places to the right.
Six thousandths as a decimal is written as 0.006. This is because the decimal point is placed three places to the left of the rightmost digit in the number, which is 6 in this case. Therefore, 0.006 represents six thousandths in decimal form.
If you are asked to give an answer to three decimal places and you have an answer such as 0.987654 then you would take the first three numbers after the decimal so in this case it would be 987, however, you would need to round this up since you have a six after it. The general rule is that if the number following your cut off point is greater than 5 you round up one number and if it is less than 5 you leave it the same. Therefore, your answer would be 0.988
six- tenths = 0.6 in decimal
You move six decimal places

Six - to the millionths.
There are: 1.1^6 = 1.771561 six decimal places
675.346.786.34111-567
1 megameter = 1000000 meters The decimal point appears to move six places.
You move it six places.
Six of them.
Oh, dude, you just move the decimal point six places to the left because millionths are six places after the decimal. So, 75 millionths as a decimal is 0.000075. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.
Six places to the right.
Six of them.
