It's difficult to answer this one, since the two disciplines are inter-dependent. They co-evolved side by side over the Millenia. However, it's worth noting that up until the late 18th Century, mathematics was actually seen as one of the ARTS, and was classed alongside music and poetry! It was seen as a kind of 'poetry of numbers', and it is indeed true that some of the thought disciplines found in artistic subjects are shared by maths as well.
Without Mathematics the 2 in H2O would not exist nor would you know the equations to break down elements and combine them. How can you break down a sugar molecule without the use of numbers? The birth of numbers, hence, mathematics, there would be no science as it is the equations produced by mathematicians that provided the foundations of science and it's productions/findings. IMO.
If I do not like math, then I do not like science.

Science
Everyone knows that math is needed to create massive structure. So Math came first. Who tells you the contrary, doesn't know about what he is speaking of.
The Math and Science teachers organized to hold the 2006 Math and Science Quiz Bee Challenge last October 6th. Hope that helps!!
To figure out their case... They need to know what things are and where they came from etc.

yes, we have to use math for science if we don;t know math we can't do science
Most Science requires some mathematics, but not all math needs science.
Math, math is the back bone to all science, without out math there is no science.
