Co-ordinates means the x and y values that define a point in the two-dimensional plane (x, y)

We can extend this idea to any number of dimensions requiring a similar number of axis-positions to define a single point

So in three dimensions we need (x, y, z),

in four dimensions we might find them defined as (x, y, z, t) and so on....
