Here's an example question so I can better explain this. Say you get a worksheet that says "Find the median of 10, 7, 4, 3, 16 and 10." First you would arrange these numbers in numerical order, starting with the lowest. This would give you: 3, 4, 7, 10, 10, 16, 20 Cover 3 and 20 with two of your fingers. Then move inward, covering 4 and 16. Next you'd cover 7 and 10, leaving 10 in the middle. 10 is the median of these numbers. Here's another example. "Find the median of 7, 9, 3, 5, 8 and 1." 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 9 Using the method above, there are two numbers left in the middle: 5 and 7. When there are two numbers left over, the median is in the middle of these. The median for the above sequence is 6.

When you order the factors from least to greatest, the middle number is the median... ie: 9, 3, 10, 7, 2, 1... n order: 1, 2, 3, 7, 9, 10... the median: 5, since 3 and 7 are both the middle, 5 is in the middle of 3 and 7...
I am guessing you are asking for an example of a set of numbers with these properties. Let's start with 5 numbers, so the median will be the middle number; say 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. The median is 3, but so is the mean. Now let's replace the 5 with 10. The median is still 3, but the mean is 4. To make the mode less than 3, let us change the 2 into a 1. Now the median is still 3, the mode is 1, and the mean is 3.8. So 1, 1, 3, 4, 10 will work.
