'Vertical Construction' is a collaborative working environment that combines multiple disciplines & trades into a single source / resource - the goal being to efficiently and effectively manage complex projects from concept to completion in a timely manner and to mitigate conflicts. All trades and categories involved in the project have Direct 'line of communication' with each other in an effort to resolve issues rapidly & to facilitate a 'fast-track' schedule....The traditional 'channels of information distribution' are modified such that a Specialty Subcontractor who discovers an impediment or conflict condition can go directly to the Architect or POA to RFI/ASI the problem and keep moving.

AKA 'HCPD', "Highly Collaborative Project Delivery"; considered by some to be the Human equivalent of 'BIM' and 'AEC' as examples of related goal-oriented procedures.
