Archimedes
If he was called the father of mathematics, it was probably by someone who did not understand mathematical history at all - or perhaps of parenthood. It would be extremely strange that if a father was born several thousand years after what he was supposedly the father of! Aristotle and Euclid had already helped mathematics grow a couple of thousand years before Ramanujan was born! This is NOT to minimise his contribution to mathematics, but father he was not.
I am someone in the world that you don't know of (my mom says I'm not allowed to expose myself) well here is my answer: Archimedes is the Father of Mathematician and he contributed a lot in mathematics. He gave the basic concepts of Calculus. Moreover, he also gave various other mathematics concepts. Most of the people think that Euclid is the father of mathematics but they are wrong because Euclid is the father of geometry.
Greek Mathematician Pythagoras is considered by some to be one of the first great mathematicians. Living around 570 to 495 BC, in modern day Greece, he is known to have founded the Pythagorean cult, who were noted by Aristotle to be one of the first groups to actively study and advance mathematics. He is also commonly credited with the Pythagorean Theorem within trigonometry. However, some sources doubt that is was him who constructed the proof (Some attribute it to his students, or Baudhayana, who lived some 300 years earlier in India). Nonetheless, the effect of such, as with large portions of fundamental mathematics, is commonly felt today, with the theorem playing a large part in modern measurements and technological equipment, as well as being the base of a large portion of other areas and theorems in mathematics. But, unlike most ancient theories, it played a bearing on the development of geometry, as well as opening the door to the study of mathematics as a worthwhile endeavor. Thus, he could be called the founding father of modern mathematics.
Vedic mathematics covered universal syllabus which we are following as modern maths.

Father of mathematics
Mathematics became very analytical around the time of Riemann (1826-1866). The mathematics that followed from this is known as modern mathematics. Applied mathematicians may consider more recent mathematics in the second half of the 1900's to be modern mathematics, when computers, economics, and finance (etc) all became huge fields in mathematics.
