i think because:
first, English is the most known language nowadays and is used frequently (our communication is an example)
second, because without math you can't do many other stuff including science. many things in science need math.
music is not that important because its more like a hobby.
science is also important but as i said before without math many things in science can't be done!
that's my opinion! :)
maths is vital in every job. science uses a maths, history, music. most things involve maths in one way or the other.
You need maths to pay your bills. You need English to write and communicate. You need both to get a decent job. Music and art are more like hobbies than actual life skills. Maths and English are crucial to your survival in the big world outside education. Music and art can be studied if you plan to go into one of those areas as a career choice. Either way, you still need maths and English.
This is a very short answer, but it tells you the basics. Maths is used in science; in science, you measure amounts. Maths is used in history; you use dates. Maths is also used in geography; in geography you count population and take measurements. Maths is used in music as well; you count the beats, multiply the beats and arrange them. There are many other uses of maths in these subjects, if you don't constrain yourself to thinking that maths is STRICTLY hard arithmetic and algebraic problems you will see that maths is in everything you do. From cooking, to breathing, maths is everywhere.
if you play a piece by learning it by memory then that is all fine until you come to the sight reading part of your graded exams. This is why reading music whilst playing is important, so you can sight read more easily.
It's difficult to answer this one, since the two disciplines are inter-dependent. They co-evolved side by side over the Millenia. However, it's worth noting that up until the late 18th Century, mathematics was actually seen as one of the ARTS, and was classed alongside music and poetry! It was seen as a kind of 'poetry of numbers', and it is indeed true that some of the thought disciplines found in artistic subjects are shared by maths as well. Without Mathematics the 2 in H2O would not exist nor would you know the equations to break down elements and combine them. How can you break down a sugar molecule without the use of numbers? The birth of numbers, hence, mathematics, there would be no science as it is the equations produced by mathematicians that provided the foundations of science and it's productions/findings. IMO.

A primary school curriculum is the additional subjects you do in school as well as the core subjects, English, Maths and Science. e.g. Drama, music geography etc.
