You mean mixed fraction?

This only works when the top (numerator) is larger than the bottom (denominator).

You divide the top by the bottom as close as you as you can and write this as a whole number and then the remainder as a numerator over the original denominator.

Example:

67/9 -> 7 4/9

Explanation: 67 divided by 9 is 7 with 4 left over.
