The area of a triangle is base x height x 1/2, or base x height / 2.

That means the flat part at the bottom (the base) times the height, or the highest vertex (corner) to the base in a straight line, times 1/2 (or divided by two).

Which triangle is larger one with sides measuring 200 300 and 400 cm or one with sides measuring 300 400 and 700 cm?

its called a scalene triangle, scalene triangles have 3 different sides to work out area you do base x Perpendicular height divided by 2 the problem is i dont know which side is base of which is hight, to work out the area of a triangle. you have given little information which is not helpful

How do you work out if a triangle is a scalene triangle?

When each of the 3 interior angles measure less than 90 degrees and the 3 sides are of different lengths

How do you work out the area of a scalene triangle?

The area of any triangle has the same formula, which is base times height, divided by 2. A scalene triangle is a triangle with three sides of unequal length, which is not important when calculating the area.

How do l work out the area of a the perimeter of a triangle?

How do work out the area of a right angled triangle?

A right triangle is easy, simply multiply the two sides and divide by two

How do you get the cubic meters of a right triangle?

You cant work out th cubic capacity of a triangle you can work out the area. Measure the two longest sides multiply them together and half the result.

How do l work out the area of a triangle?

A right triangle is easy, simply multiply the two sides and divide by two. A non-right triangle is a bit more of a challenge. You have to make it a right triangle by adding a right triangle to it. Calculate and then subtract the area of what you had to add.

How do you work out to find the area of the quadrilateral formed by the square and triangle?

First find the area of the square (length x width) then find the area of the triangle (base x height x 2) and add the two answers together.Quadrilateral just means "four sides", but the sides have to be straight.Assuming it's a right-angle triangle? Such a triangle is half of a rectangle or square, so times by 2).

How do you work out the area of a triangle inside a square?

If you want to figure out just the area of the triangle, the formula is base times height divided by 2. It does not matter if it is inside a square, as long as you have the legnths of all they sides you need to calculate the area of that triangle. If you do not, It would be very difficult.

How do you find the area of a triangle given only the perimeter?

It is possible depending on what type of triangle it is. For instance if it was an equilateral triangle then all sides would be equal and then by means of Pythagoras' theorem you could work out the height of the triangle and using the formula: 1/2*base*height = area

How can you find the area of a composite figures trapezoid with a triangle?

A trapezoid has 2 inner triangles and so work out the area of each triangle then add them together. Alternatively use the formula for area of a trapezoid which is:- 0.5*(sum of parallel sides)*height
