Since you know that it is a parallelogram (not parallellogram!) you already know that the opposite sides are mutually parallel. All you need to do is to establish that any pair of adjacent sides are of equal length, or equivalently, the squares of these lengths are equal. The squared length of the line AB where A = (p,q) and B = (r,s) is

(p - r)^2 + (q - s)^2.

If A is the point -2 -4 and B is the point -8 4 what is the length of AB?

Using Pythagoras Length AB = √((-8 - 2)² + (4 - -4)²) = √(6² + 8²) = √100 = 10 units.

What is the slope of a line that passes through 8 4 and 8 -2?

If you mean points of (8, 4) and (8, -2) then the line has no slope and it is a vertical straight line parallel to the y axis

How do you explain the length of line segment using Pythagoras theorem?

Consider the line segment between the points of (6, 8) and (3, 4) Using Pythagoras' theorem its length is: (6-3)squared+(8-4)squared = 25 So the square root of 25 is 5 which is the length of the line

What is the area of a 2 x 4?

It depends on the length. The surface area would be 4*length+8*length+16.

What happens to the perimeter of the rectangle if the length is decreased by 4 cm and the width is increased by 2 cm?

The perimeter decreases by 4. Decreasing the length by 4 decreases the perimeter by 8. Increasing the width by 2 increases the perimeter by 4. -8+4=-4 For example: Area of a rectangle could be: 8 x 6 (8 being the length and 6 being the width). The perimeter is 8+8+6+6=28 If the length is decreased by 4 then it becomes 4 If the width is increased by 2 then it becomes 8. The perimeter becomes 4+4+8+8=24

What is the length of the line segment that is graphed from (25) to (28)?

If you mean: (2, 5) and (2, 8) then the length works out as 3 units

If A (-2 -4) and B (-8 4) what is the length of?

The length is 3*sqrt(5) = 6.7082, approx.
