Math is used in Netball when the umpire or the scorer works out whose centre pass it it after a goal has been scored. This is because the team that has the first centre pass of the game will have the centre pass for the goals which total even numbers (for example 2-4 or 17-11) and the other team will have the centre passes when the score adds up to an even number (eg 2-1 or 21-16). This changes after each interval so the team that had the first centre pass od the game will change and have the centre passes when the score adds up to an odd number and vice versa. Percentages are taken in netball. For example, a shooter may shoot 7 ot of 10 for a quarter. The shooter then shot a 70% and the coach can look at his and make decisions based on this.
