The above statement is not true!-3/4 is a fraction which is less than 1. Its reciprocal is -4/3 which is also less than 1, NOT greater.
A fraction is less than 1 when its denominator is greater than its numerator as for example 3/4
As an improper fraction it is 4/1
It can be anything you like.-3 is bigger than -4 but (-3)/(-4) = 3/4 is a positive fraction which is less than 1.4 is bigger than 3 but 4/3 is a positive fraction which is greater than 1.3 is bigger than -4 but 3/(-4) = -3/4 is a negative fraction which is greater than -1.4 is bigger than -3 but 4/(-3) = -4/3 is a negative fraction which is less than -1.
if the number above the bottom number is smaller than half of the bottom number, the fraction is less than half. For example, say the fraction is 3/8, half of the bottom number is 4. 3 is smaller than 4 therefore the fraction is less than half.
There is no such fraction.
1/4
(1/2) * (1/4) is an example.
True. The product of a mixed number between 4 and 5 (which is greater than 4) and a fraction between 0 and 1 (which is less than 1) will always yield a value less than the mixed number itself. Since the mixed number is less than 5, the product will be less than 5, but since it is also multiplied by a fraction less than 1, the product will indeed be less than 4.
