∙ 11y agoThe slope of the perpendicular to a line has a slope which is the negative reciprocal of the original line's slope.
The negative reciprocal of x is -1/x
So in this case, where the slope is -2 the perpendicular line has the slope -1/(-2) or simply 1/2

∙ 11y agoSlope of given line = -3 Therefore, slope of perpendicular = 1/3
For the line 2x + y = 8 , the slope equals ( -2 ) so the required slope of the line which is perpendicular to it is equal to (+1/2 )
line in data is y=-2X+6 The perpendicular line will have a slope of = +1/2 Note : m X m' = -1 , m= slope of line 1 ; m'= slope of perpendicular line to line 1

negative 1
It is: 1/5
If: y = 2/5x+10 then the perpendicular slope is -5/2x or -2.5x
A perpendicular line has the negative reciprocal of the slope. The perpendicular line has a slope of 1/2 y=1/2 + 3 The 3 or y-intercept can really be any number though.
3x+y = 4 y = -3x+4 Perpendicular slope: 1/3
