∙ 13y agoMost jurisdictions will no longer allow the installation of 60 amp main service panels. If you are doing a repair, and a simple replacement MIGHT be considered a repair, you might get away with replacing one with the other.
But if you have the time, money, and/or you KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING, I suggest you upgrade the service to at least 100 amps. Even in small homes the typical installation is now 125 amps. And if the home is all electric, typical installation is 200amps.
Replacing a service panel can be very dangerous. Do this ONLY if you know what you are doing and how to protect yourself from injury. If you are guessing, DO NOT DO THIS TASK.

∙ 13y agoThere wasn't room for more details: I know they're shared on the bus bar. I meant to ask if they can be connected in the junction box? I found a jct box with the two circuits. They are completely separate except for the grounding conductor/ground wire, which are connected. This is because the 15-amp has armored BX and junctions with 14-2 romex, so the ground for the romex connects with the ground for the 12-2/20-amp. Thanks.

Are you talking about recepticale boxes that you plug a device into or service panel that the breakers are in?

the IG fuse is under the hood in the fuse box panel. it is a 50 amp fuse and has two screws holding it in there
Its a 15 amp fuse in the fuse box under the hood on the passenger side near the front. Its the only 15 amp fuse and it is in a clip. Remove the clip, replace the fuse and then reset the clip.
you propaly can't sub panel from 100 amp panel. Just not enough amperage to be worth while. i had to up grade t a 200 amp main first and then I was able to take a 60 sub panel from that.

Just saying this but when my instrument panel stopped working, I unscrewed the fuse box off and replaced the "Gauges" fuse. It is a red 10 amp fuse. As soon as i popped the new fuse in, my dash lit up like new.
