That i dont know but i do know how to add fractions! you add the numerator only. OK hope that helped.!
BYE!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
ok, that was not a good answer @ ALL. this is how u do it:
EX: 9/12 + 3/9
first, u get the fraction pieces that you want to use (ninths)
next u put wat ur addin (9/18 to 3/9) n u set it up
b/c the fractions dont have the same denominatr, you half 2 make it the same denominatr (9/18 = 9/18 n 3/9 = 6/18 -- just double or multiply by 2)
then u add-- this is the easy part, for it is explaind ^-- n ur sum is 15/18
u can now simplify it 2 5/6 (just divide by 3)
ur welcome!!!

A whole stick is worth 1 whole, use fraction sticks to find equivalent fractions, use the fraction sticks to add fractions with the same denominator
In the same way as you would with numbers which are not fraction. Add together the fractions and divide by their count.
First add all the fractions together. Then, divide this sum by the total number of fractions that were in the set. This quotient is your average fraction.
You have to convert them to equivalent similar fractions (fractions with the same denominator) first.
You convert them both to improper fractions by multiplying the denominators by the whole number and then adding the numerator to it. This number goes in the numerator and the denominator stays the same. Then you do this for the other fraction, making sure that the denominators of each fraction are equivalent. Then add the fractions as normal.

because they are the same number
You can add or subract other fractions to it, or reduce it.

Because it tells you how much the fraction is out of.

Same as any average. Add all the fractions and divide them by the amount of fractions
Similar fractions are fractions with the same denominator. In order to add or subtract fractions they need to be similar.
It is best to convert the mixed fraction to an improper fraction. They are then added together in the same way as proper fractions are added together.
you can't add nor subtract mixed fractions so you need to turn it into a fraction, if you wanna turn a mixed fraction into a fraction you need to multiply the whole number by the denominator, then add the numerator, then you can multiply normally (make sure you simplify and turn it into a mixed fraction your answer)
