The number line is set up so that integers are equally space. That is, the distance between two consecutive integers is, for example, 1 cm. (or some other convenient distance). Also, the numbers are usually labeled; you should therefore have no trouble finding them. If you have one integer, the next number (one more) is one unit to the right (at least, that's the standard way to show a number line).
We were really looking forward to solving this problem, and were terribly disappointed to find that you had left out the distance between the marks. That's so sad, when just a bit of proofreading could have prevented it.
First, you have to specify what cities you want to find the distance between, and then you can find the distance between each one, and finally add all the distance together, to give you the total.

A quadratic sequence is when the difference between two terms changes each step. To find the formula for a quadratic sequence, one must first find the difference between the consecutive terms. Then a second difference must be found by finding the difference between the first consecutive differences.

The wavelength of a transverse wave can be found by measuring the distance between two consecutive points of similar displacement or phase along the wave. This distance represents the distance traveled by the wave during one complete cycle of oscillation. Mathematically, the wavelength can be determined by dividing the wave speed by its frequency.
