They are located in the engine block. :-) For real All Ford V-8's are the same. As you face the engine with crankshaft pulley in front of you, Cylinder numbers are 1-4 on the left side counting from front to rear and numbers 5-8 are on the right counting from front to rear. I'm not a mechanic / technician , but a 1994 Ford Aerostar is OBD I , EEC IV so there should be an EEC TEST connection in the engine compartment
All my information tells me Ford stopped using the 4 cylinder engines for Aerostars in 1987 so you would have the 3.0 or 4.0 6 cylinder engine.
