There are 3 types of average, but the most common one is the mean.
You need to add up all of your numbers, and then divide the answer by how many numbers you added up.
E.g.
What is the average of 1 3 4 6 7 and 11
(I have 6 numbers)
1 + 3 + 4 + 6 + 7 + 11 = 32
25/6 = 5.333...
So the average of the numbers is 5.333... or 51/3
Hope it makes sense...
The average of the remaining numbers is 38.
The average of n numbers = (sum of n numbers) / (count of n numbers).
The mean average of a set of numbers is the sum of the numbers divided by how many of them there are. If there are 8 numbers with a sum of 2464, their mean average is 2464 ÷ 8 = 308.
The average of those numbers is 136.25
The average of a set of numbers is the sum of all the numbers, divided the amount of numbers in the sequence. For example, the average of 12, 14, 13, 15, and 20, would be the sum of the numbers, 74, divided by the amount of numbers in the sequence, 5. So the average is 74/5, which is 14.8.
The average of the remaining numbers is 38.

The average of two numbers.
The average of a group of numbers is(the sum of all the numbers in the group)/(how many numbers there are in the group)
The average, in this case, is the sum divided by 4 (since there are 4 numbers).
