Remove the 30 amp double pole breaker and install at least one single pole 15 amp breaker. It is best if the other slot is not left open so if you have another single pole breaker of any size install it in the 2nd spot so it isn't open when you replace the cover on the panel.

For your 15 amp circuit you need #14 gauge copper wire or larger with a hot, neutral, and ground. Your 30 amp circuit was probably wired with #10 gauge conductors. These will probably work on your 15 amp circuit but it may be difficult to connect #10 conductors to devices.

You can use a 15 amp single pole breaker to convert your 30 amp double pole breaker to 15 amp 120v. Simply replace the 30 amp breaker with the 15 amp breaker in the circuit breaker panel. Make sure to match the wire size in the circuit with the appropriate amperage rating of the new breaker.

Can a 240v 50amp circuit be changed to a 120v 30amp circuit?

No, it is not recommended to downgrade a 240V 50A circuit to a 120V 30A circuit. The wiring and breaker size must match the voltage and amperage requirements of the appliances being used. It is important to consult with a licensed electrician for any modifications to ensure safety and compliance with electrical codes.

Why would you need a 20 Amp Single Pole Switch insted of a 15 Amp?

A 20 Amp single pole switch is needed when the circuit requires higher amperage capacity to safely control the load. Using a 15 Amp switch on a circuit that requires 20 Amps could lead to overheating and potential fire hazards. Always match the switch's amperage rating with the circuit's requirements for safety and proper functionality.

Can you plug a 120v 20 amp wielder into a 240v 40 amp outlet?

No, it is not safe to plug a 120v 20 amp welder into a 240v 40 amp outlet. The voltage difference is too high and could damage the welder. It is important to match the voltage and amperage of the welder with the corresponding outlet.

Can you use 600v 14 gage wire on a 240v 30 amp electric dryer?
