A polyhedron is a 3-dimensional shape bounded by 4 or more plane faces. The prefices for the smaller numbers are pretty well known: tetrahedron (4), penta-, hexa-, etc. Beyond 10, the only common prefices are dodeca- (12) and icosa- (20). For most polyhedra with a large number of faces, the sensible and user friendly way is to refer to it as an n-hedron where n is the number of faces. However, some pretentious and user unfriendly people will insist on using unfamiliar prefices. You may find help deciphering these at
