just take out everything that is the same. you can not take out any numerical values. you can only take out the variables. so take out 2 x's

x2(x2 - 7x + 10)

this is the factored form. to put it back into the form you originally had just multiply the x2 by each term inside the parenthesis.

Note: in case you didn't know x2 is the same as x multiplied by x which means you have 2 x's. Also, x3 is the same as x times x times x since you have three x's. And x4 is the same as x times x times x times x since you have four x's. And this can be done for x5 x6 ... and so on.
