Say I had a formula like:

2n-1

Quick definition of N

N is the number of the number in the sequence.

E.G: Here is a sequence:

10,19,28,37,46,55

10 is the 1st number in the sequence so therefore it's N is 1

19 is the 2nd number in the sequence so therefore it's N is 2

So back to our problem!

If you wanted to find the 1st number then you would do 2x1-1 which is 1

So if you add 2 onto the number you will get the second number in the sequence!

The Nth term is an easy concept but it is hard to explain I hope I have helped you!
