To some, life would be absolutely amazing without fractions! A whole lot of people hate fractions and would much rather just use decimals all of the time.
just find a common denominator and add like you regularly would with fractions.
There are infinitely many fractions between any two different fractions. 7/24 would do, but so would 71/240, 70/241 etc
if fraction didn't exist we will never know it or learn it and never understood it :)
