The answer would be 0.90

The easiest way to think of decimals is in terms of something over 100.

For example:

You want to figure out 2 over 5 in decimal form.

1. Multiply the denominator by something so it equals 100.

5 x _ = 100

5 x 20 = 100

2. Multiply the numerator by the same number you multiplied the denominator by.

2 x 20 = 40

3. Put them together in fraction form.

40/100

4. Take the new numerator and move the decimal place two to the right.

40.0 = 0.40

Now you have you answer: .40

I hope that wasn't too complicated. I'm not very good at explaining things.

If anything, you can use a calculator and just divide the numerator by the denominator. :)

What is the purpose for leaving decimals at the end of a number?

Leaving decimals at the end of a number is to give more accuracy. Sometimes it is needed, sometimes its not though. For example: 8-4= 4. This is a simple subtract sum that needs no decimals. But when working out a sum such as 6/4= 1.5 a decimal is needed. All a decimal shows is a point between two numbers. 1.5 is directly in the middle of 1 and 2. This could be rounded up to 2 but using a decimal makes it more accurate.

Do integers numbers have decimals?

An integer is a "whole number". The only way it can have a decimal is if the decimal part is all nothing but zeros. Then you could erase the decimal part and it wouldn't change the value of the number.

What two decimals are equivalent to the given decimals?

That all depends upon what are the given decimals. For example, 0.01 is equivalent to .01. You can leave the zero off before the decimal point, and it is still equivalent. However, 0.01 is not equivalent to 0.010. The extra zero to the right of the 1 indicates greater precision. For example, 0.01 could be 0.014 or 0.008. Either one rounds to 0.01. However, neither one rounds to 0.010.

How do you convert decimals into decimals?

Writing A Fraction As A Decimal-- Divide the numerator by the denominator. Example-two fifths. Divide 5 into 2. You will notice that you cant divide it, so you add a decimal and a zero to the number inside. If you do it right, You should've gotten 0.4 as your decimal you are suppose to divide the denominator by the numerator
