What they mean to be asking is "How to FIND the unit rate of that question." I'll give a better example.

Suppose that you have a Four Door that runs 26 miles per gallon, and you are trying to find how many gallons of gas your car will go through in 447 miles. What you do to find this is to just divide.

447 mi / 26 mpg and your answer will come out to be about 27 gallons.
