It separates the numbers
When writing a decimal in word form, always move left to right.Left of decimal- Write the number just as you would if there wasn't a decimal after it. Ignore the decimal and the numbers to the right of it, and just write the number to the left.Decimal- Write "point."Right of decimal- List the numbers from left to right.Write these three in that order to find the answer.Example You have 10056.07825. The number to the left is "ten thousand fifty-six", then the decimal is "point," and the numbers to the left are "zero seven eight two five."The answer is "ten thousand fifty six point zero seven eight two five."_____When you write a decimal like: 1056.2356 you would write it like this:ten thousand fifty six AND (not point) two thousand three hundred fifty six ten thousandths.
When writing a decimal out in words, the numbers before the decimal are written as if they are whole numbers, and the numbers after the decimal are read as digits. Therefore, for example, 150.35 is read one hundred and fifty point three five.
4.16 is words is 'four point one six'. NOT 'four point sixteen'. The decimal numbers are given incorrect units.
1.23 and similar numbers with figures AFTER the decimal point are Decimal Fractions. When expressed as an 'ordinary' fraction then 1.23 = 123/100
You write it as 0.004 because to the left of the decimal point is ones, to the first zero to the right of the decimal point is tenths, to the second zero to the right of the decimal point is hundredths, and so on.
write the following decimal numbers in words .0087945
the decimal point
always remember to count the numbers behind the decimal(s)
As in words, one thousandth. As in numbers, it uses a decimal point.
seven-hundred thirty-four decimal point sixth
If that is a decimal point after 2 then it is 2,000,000,000 = 2 billion

20 is a number above the decimal point, so writing it as a decimal is not really possible. You could write 20.0 and include the next numbers place, but it's the same number.
Write 2 ways in which whole numbers and decimal numbers are different
Write the numbers in a column so that all the decimal points are one below the other. Put a decimal point in the answers underneath the coumn of decimal points. Then add the numbers ignoring the decimal points.
Generally, whole numbers that have no digits after the decimal point are not written as decimalsm but if it is, 30000 would be written as 30000. or 30000.0 or with as many zeros as you like after the decimal point, though the decimal point and zeros are not necessary.
