Geometry has been understood long before any contemporary religion.
Archimedes
Descartes did not discover geometry - he invented analytical geometry, which enabled mathematicians to use algebra to solve problems in geometry and geometry to solve problems in algebra. The world would be less developed than now, as would be the case with most discoveries.
During the Abbasid period, Muslim mathematicians made significant advancements in various areas of mathematics. They introduced decimal system and the concept of zero to the Islamic world, which later spread to Europe. They also made important contributions to algebra, trigonometry, and geometry, building upon the works of Greek and Indian mathematicians. Muslim mathematicians like Al-Khwarizmi and Al-Kindi laid the foundation for modern mathematics through their development of algebraic symbolism and solving quadratic equations.
Both were mathematicians
Ah, the mother of geometry is a wonderful figure named Euclid. She laid down the foundation for this beautiful branch of mathematics with her book "Elements," which has inspired countless mathematicians and artists alike. Just like in painting, geometry helps us see the world in a new light and appreciate the beauty of shapes and patterns around us.

"The" five mathematicians? There surely are much more than five.
I am not sure what you want to know, but surely math is not just Greek. The ancient Greeks made great and fundamental contributions to math , particularly in Geometry and there are modern Greek mathematicians , but the field has expanded exponentially since the heyday of the Greek geometers -excellent mathematicians are now found all over the world. Mathematicians often used Greek letters, but this is only a notational convenience- has nothing to do with the Greek language.
Geometry does not expose the physical world, but it does tell us something about how the physical world works. Geometry is relevant to the physical world.
There really was no question of survival in connection with algebra. It was a very useful tool invented by Muslim mathematicians Other cultures found good reason to study it and expand it.
