For a number to be a three digit number, the first digit has to be 1 through 9, which means that there are 9 possiblities for the first spot.

How many three digit number combinations are there in 0 to 9 if you can not repeat a number?

This question is ambiguous. It could mean the numbers 123,456,789 in which case the answer is three as only three combinations of these digits can be used whether or not the 0 is used. Or more likely it could mean the range 100, 101,102,103 etc up to 999 in which case you can work out what the answer is, by subtracting the first number in this range from the last number.

How many 4 digit combinations can be made from these 3 numbers 2-6-5?

Assuming you're allowed to repeat numbers, the answer is 81. For each digit, you have three choices: 2, 5, and 6. So there are three one-digit numbers you can make, and each one digit number can be combined with any of three other digits to make a two-digit number, giving 9 (3 times 3) possibilities. Now you can take any of the nine two-digit numbers as the tens and ones places in the four-digit number and any other two-digit number as the thousands and hundreds places, which gives 81 (9 times 9) possibilities. If you can't repeat numbers, the answer is zero because you don't have enough numbers to fill all the digits.

How many three-digit numbers have the hundreds digit equal to 4 and the units digit equal to 5?

10   You can only have one choice, the number 4 as the hundred digit and also one choice, the number 5 as the units digit. However, you can have any integer from 0-9 as the hundreds digit. The number of combinations is thus 1 x 10 x 1 = 10.

What are the possible combinations for a lock with 3 wheels and the digits 0 to 9?

The short answer is 1000. This is very easy to visualise: Simply consider each number in the combination to be a digit in a decimal number. We then end up with a three-digit number. Such a three-digit number ranges in value from 000 to 999, or 1000 unique combinations.

How many combinations of three digits can be made using each digit only once in each combination?

You have a three digit number that can only use each digit once in combination. Therefore, a number like 456 is acceptable, but 455 or 101 or 222 is not acceptable. I think you can solve the problem in the following manner. There are 10 possible digits (0-9) that can be used in the first number. For the second number there are only 9 possible since you cannot repeat one of the first. For the third number there are only 8 possible since again you cannot repeat any of the first two. You multiply the possibilities for each digit to get our answer. 10 * 9 * 8 = 720 There are 720 possible combinations.

How many 5 digit combos in 30 numbers?

The answer will depend on how many digits there are in each of the 30 numbers. If the 30 numbers are all 6-digit numbers then the answer is NONE! If the 30 numbers are the first 30 counting numbers then there are 126 combinations of five 1-digit numbers, 1764 combinations of three 1-digit numbers and one 2-digit number, and 1710 combinations of one 1-digit number and two 2-digit numbers. That makes a total of 3600 5-digit combinations.

How many different 3 digit combinations can be made using 0 thru 9 and they can repeat?

Using the word "combinations" in the English sense (as opposed to mathematical sense the expert has used) where it often used in the mathematical sense of the word "permutations": Assuming the hundreds digit must be at least 1 (eg 99 = 099 is not considered a three digit number), then: 9 x 10 x 10 = 900.
