This question is ambiguous. It could mean the numbers 123,456,789 in which case the answer is three as only three combinations of these digits can be used whether or not the 0 is used. Or more likely it could mean the range 100, 101,102,103 etc up to 999 in which case you can work out what the answer is, by subtracting the first number in this range from the last number.
